With testing shifting left in Agile teams, automation is a crucial skill for testers to learn in order to facilitate Continuous Integration and DevOps. According to The State of Testing Report 2017, one of the top three skills testers should have is test automation. Our course will give you a solid foundation for learning automation, enabling you to automate in the field upon completion.

The course consists of a 3-hour webinar, an assignment and discussions through Slack. The assignment is a very practical exercise using the tools that you will learn within this course, that you submit to be reviewed by the instructors who give you feedback. This helps you to solidify and validate what you have learned. Students have up to two weeks to finish the course. Upon completion, you will receive a certification from Abstracta Academy to display on your Linkedin and add to your resume.

Skilled in development, software testing and continuous process improvement, Alexis is a certified Programmer Analyst, and has over 8 years of experience as automation engineer. He has much experience with SCRUM (Certified Scrum Master) and traditional software development cycles, and has also worked within different domains like health insurance, e-business, e-learning, the airline industry, and cloud computing. He has been involved in automation framework design and development, estimation effort, automation development, review and continuous integration setup for many clients such as Google, LAN Airlines, Carnival Cruises, McKesson.
Federico has over 10 years of experience in consulting, research and testing related to the area of development as well as more than 7 years of teaching experience at various universities. He has a Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering and graduated cum laude from University of Castilla-La Mancha, Spain with a PhD in testing. While receiving his doctorate, he was a part of the eminent Alarcos Research Group which received the 2008 Quality Award in R&D, awarded by the Association of engineers of Castilla-La Mancha and the Federation of Enterprises of Technology. He has published scholarly articles and is frequently invited to participate in international conferences and seminars. He recently published “Introduction to Information Systems Testing,” one of the first books in Spanish on testing with a practical approach.
