Course Summary
We introduce you to functional test automation, starting with why it is worth it to automate, then we will see various approaches and tools. In particular, we focus on three platforms, web, win and services. We then introduce the test design techniques necessary for defining which tests to automate. Then we cover several tools for test and incident management.

Meet the Instructors

Federico Toledo
PhD
Federico has over 10 years of experience in consulting, research and testing related to the area of software development as well as more than 7 years of teaching experience at various universities. He has a Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering and graduated cum laude from University of Castilla-La Mancha, Spain with a PhD in testing. While receiving his doctorate, he was a part of the eminent Alarcos Research Group which received the 2008 Quality Award in R&D, awarded by the Association of engineers of Castilla-La Mancha and the Federation of Enterprises of Technology. He has published scholarly articles and is frequently invited to participate in international conferences and seminars. He recently published “Introduction to Information Systems Testing,” one of the first books in Spanish on testing with a practical approach.

Gabriela Sánchez
Testing Leader
Gabriela is a consultant at Abstracta and a professor of Project Management and Software Engineering at the ORT University in Montevideo, Uruguay. With over 10 years of experience in quality assurance, a couple of her main interests related to testing are teaching and conducting academic research. She is currently leading a research project related to exploratory testing.
